I am really excited for NaNoWriMo this year. I don't recall offhand if I've already blogged about it (or at least mentioned it in prior posts), but I've been counting down the days (or weeks... or months) since August or September!
The big news is that I'm taking a break from my Ruby Ransome series to do something a little different this NaNo. I've been working on my 1920s vampire series for a little over two years now, and I've been working on revisions most of this year. I find revisions to be very difficult, and I recently had an experience that left me feeling rather "stuck," so I'm taking a creative break to write something else during November.
Don't worry, I'm not leaving my series behind entirely -- I just felt like I needed a short break from it in order to become more productive again.
NaNoWriMo starts this coming Friday -- or, at least for me, Thursday night at my region's kickoff party. Even though I'm not writing Ruby this year, I'm thinking about going to the kickoff party dressed as her! I'm planning on being very involved in NaNo this year -- I already have several weekly write-ins that I want to go to at least once throughout the month, and I organized one of my own again, same as last year. (Last year I didn't go to any others, though.)
Here's to a fun and productive November!
