This week I'm on vacation from my nanny job -- actually, from most of my jobs, since two of the families I babysit for are out of town, as well. I don't have any work -- other than taking care of my primary employers' dog while they are out of town -- until the weekend.
Except for writing work, of course.
I do have a bunch of freelance work that I want to get out of the way as soon as possible (I'll get to work on it as soon as I am done with a few tasks of my own), and of course I'll have more freelance work incoming throughout the week -- but I also want to devote a lot of time this week to working on my novel.
I'm hoping to have a productive staycation in more ways than one. Besides my freelance and novel work, I also want to get several time-intensive projects done around the house, stuff that really needs to be done but that I never seem to have time for when I'm working my usual summer schedule.
I don't really take many actual vacations anymore -- they are usually staycations, and I usually have specific plans for my free time. I wonder if my experience is unusual. Does anyone do this besides me?
