Today was my first week back to my regular schedule -- that is, regular since January, getting up early and taking the preschooler back and forth to school. While it was nice to get back to that schedule, I also really did like my time off.
I had a hard time readjusting to getting up early again. I stayed up far too late Sunday and Monday nights because I was enjoying a really good book (The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls), and being tired affected my entire week, so I'm now pretty relieved that it's Friday.
My birthday is also on Sunday, so I'm glad to be starting the weekend. I have the weekend off to celebrate.
I've been thinking more about spring cleaning my schedule. I'm getting too bogged down with families and clients that aren't necessarily happy experiences for me. And there are other things weighing me down, too. There are some jobs (both childcare and freelancing) I may need to purge in the coming months, so that I can hopefully move ahead. I haven't been working on my own projects, haven't even contributed a single word during Camp NaNoWriMo, and a great part of it is that I feel so overwhelmed by my other work -- some of which I'm beginning to feel is dragging me down, rather than lifting me up, as it should be.
More thoughts to come on this as I work out what I want to do about it...
